This test is offered as a package to fruit cooperatives and large growers managing multiple orchards within a region. You can use it to determine the optimum harvest window for your reference orchards and then fine-tune this advice to your other orchards. This allows you to plan your harvest and storage up to two weeks before harvest.
For this test you need to take weekly samples from your reference orchards, starting three weeks before anticipated harvest. Based on the first two samples we can determine the average maturation rate and optimum harvesting window for the region.
As soon as this regional harvesting advice is known, you take one sample from each of your other orchards. This enables us to compare the ripening stage in individual orchards to the regional average, and to fine-tune the regional harvesting advice to local maturity levels. Due to variation in microclimate and management, a difference of up to 14 days between early and late orchards is normal.
Since you need only one sample per orchard, this test is cheaper (per orchard) than the regular RipeNSure test.
