With this test you can compare the ripening stage of your pears between orchards, and determine the optimum harvesting sequence. You can also use it to compare batches of freshly harvested pears, to optimize your storage and sales planning.
For this test you need to take one sample (15 pears) from each orchard, 1-2 weeks before expected harvest time. The samples are easy to prepare.
Based on your samples we assess the ripening stage for each orchard and provide an advice for the optimum harvesting sequence. Our analysis is available within two business days after we have received your samples.
You can also use this test to compare batches of freshly harvested fruit, as long as the fruit has not yet been cooled. Based on these samples we can advise you on the storage potential of your fruit.
This test provides a more accurate estimate of maturity than sugar content or firmness, because it directly measures the activity of genes that control the ripening process.
This test is suitable for Conference and Abate Fetel.
