With this test you can monitor the ripening process of apples, and determine the optimum harvest window two weeks in advance. It is a reliable and powerful tool to optimize your harvest and storage planning.
For this test you need to collect two samples (15 apples each) from your orchard. The first sample should be taken three weeks before anticipated harvest, the second sample one week later. The samples are easy to prepare.
Each sample will be classified on a maturation scale from 1 to 10. Based on the difference in ripening stage between the samples we can determine the maturation rate, and predict the optimum harvest window. Our analysis is available within two business days after we have received your samples.
This test provides a more accurate estimate of maturity than sugar content or firmness, because it directly measures the activity of genes that control the ripening process.
This test is suitable for most commercial apple varieties.
