With this test you can predict, at harvest time, the risk of sugar formation in frying potatoes during cold storage. It allows you to optimize your storage planning (‘high risk, first out’), and to ensure a consistent processing quality and good frying colour.
For this test you need to prepare a juice sample from 25 tubers, randomly selected from the batch you wish to test, within one week after harvest. The sample is easy to prepare.
Based on your sample we predict the risk of cold sweetening in the tested batch, classified as low, medium or high. Our analysis is available within two business days after we have received your sample.
This test is more reliable and accurate than starch and sugar analyses, because it directly measures the activity of the genes that control starch to sugar conversion.
This test is suitable for Agria and Russet Burbank. Please contact us if you require this test for other potato varieties.
