Effect of ethylene blockers
To better manage the harvesting of large fruit orchards, the ripening process can be slowed down with ethylene blockers. While it takes about one week for the effect of these agents to become visible on the outside of the fruit, the genes involved in the ripening process respond immediately after application. This is easy to measure with our testing method. This way, our method provides a powerful tool to assess the efficacy, optimal dosage and application timing of ethylene blockers and other agents. Effect of light treatment on plant vitality
Red light (LED) may increase crop resistance against pests and diseases. Our testing method makes this effect visible by measuring gene expression profiles. For example light treatment is shown to increase the activity of defence-related genes in tomato.
