NSure is finding out how crops respond...

Plants, including all agricultural crops, are sophisticated organisms that are perfectly capable of responding to their environment. They respond for example to heat or pathogens, but also to the application of fertilizers or biostimulants. NSure is finding out exactly how crops respond, particularly to biostimulant solutions. One of the first responses to occur are massive changes in gene activity. In other words, plants react by switching on and off thousands of genes.

Using a novel technology, called Next Generation Sequencing, or NGS, it is possible to look at the activity of all genes simultaneously. By comparing the RNA composition between treated vs. untreated plants, genes involved in the crops’ response can be identified.
